  • Pressure management and exercise guidance
  • Advice, support and coaching with exercise

  • Liaison with your Urogynaecology team as required

Vaginal support pessaries

A vaginal support pessary is a removable device, usually made from medical-grade silicone, designed to provide internal support and reduce symptoms such as heaviness, bulging or dragging.

Pessaries can be an excellent option for both short- and long-term management of prolapse and stress urinary incontinence. They may be used independently or alongside rehabilitation, depending on your goals and preferences.

Fitting, education and follow-up care are provided as part of a comprehensive prolapse management plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer pessary fitting and care?

Yes - I offer pessary fitting and ongoing review as part of a comprehensive prolapse management plan.

Can I still exercise if I have a prolapse?

Yes! Exercise is not only safe but beneficial. The key is ensuring your pelvic floor and pressure management strategy are appropriate for the type and intensity of activity. Your programme will be tailored so you can move confidently and progressively.

Do I need surgery?

Not necessarily. Surgery is a valid option but many women will find that their symptoms improve or are managed effectively with pelvic health physiotherapy and/or vaginal pessary support. If surgery is something you’d like to consider then physiotherapy is valuable both before and after the procedure to optimise success.
